Mały Borek preserve was created to protect local forest stand. The ground cover of this preserve consists of bilberry and vaccinium vitis-idaea. The wetter parts of the preserve are full of vaccinium uliginosum. 30 years ago there was an amelioration nearby the preserve which impacted the greenery of the local peat bog. Currently the area of Mały Borek preserve is taken over by birch.
