Chapel of saint Anna in Rudawka
The chapel was raised at the beginning of the XIX century. Soon afterwards a great dispute of right to use it took place between Roman and Greek catholics. The solution of this problem was the agreement made in 1815 by virtue of which the indulgence of saint Anna was supposed to be held twice a year. In the day of the patroness according to the Gregorian calendar, the church service was run by the Roman catholic priest and on the same day from the Julian calendar – it was run by the Greek catholic priest. Since 1920 the church has been owned only by Roman catholics. Currently it belongs to the saint Mary Magdalene parish in Mikaszówka. There is an image of saint Anna in its altar. In front of the building there is a plaque with Józef Piłsudzki’s quote from one of his speeches: “… and the race of work has started like the race of blood and iron before it.”
