Serwy Lake
Serwy lake is located 15 km on the northeast from the Augustów, in the heart of Augustów Primeval Forest. It is surrounded by the fragrant, distinguished old forests which guarantee relaxing rest from the fuss of the sandy beach. On its northern side there is farmer glade. The lake surface is 460 ha, its length is 7 km and its maximum width is around 1,2 km. The maximum depth can reach 41 m.
The lakeside consists of some small, charming bays. There are three islands on the lake. The superb one is called Sosnowo Island, where the cormorant preserve is located. The next islands are called Lipowo and Dębowo Islands. What is more, the southern part of the lake has some shallow parts with the lush plants protruding under the sheet of water. Nearby, on the southern part of the lake, there is the entrance to the Augustów Canal.
Serwy lake attracts tourists with its beauty and the majestic silence that you can experience only in the wild. There are three cities under the lake: Serwy, Mołowiste and Sucha Rzeczka. In the Serwy city you will find some great accommodation base which mostly consists of holiday farms. You will find a lot of holiday resorts and camping areas.
